The Story Behind Varsen
I started Varsen because I felt modern software had become too focused on noise, distraction, and superficial engagement. We carry extraordinary computing power in our pockets and on our desks, yet much of the software we use asks for our attention instead of quietly amplifying what we want to accomplish.
Varsen is an exploration in craft, restraint, and technology. I build software products for people today while researching the systems that may shape how we interact with machines tomorrow. That means designing interfaces that respect human attention, building useful tools, and experimenting with new ways for people and machines to work together.
The long-term goal is simple: build a company capable of turning difficult technical ideas into real technology.
What I'm Building
A focus-preserving messaging overlay for Android that lets you read and reply without leaving active apps or fragmenting your attention.
A calm, local-first daily habit and nutrition companion designed without aggressive gamification, telemetry, or cloud locking.
An agentic literature synthesis engine and digital archive for navigating dense historical, scientific, and technical corpora.
An execution environment and runtime designed specifically for autonomous agent workers and machine-to-machine coordination.
What I'm Learning & Researching
My current research focuses on how autonomous agents can operate reliably over prolonged horizons without catastrophic drift. This spans:
- Local-first data topologies: Ensuring users own their state and computation without forced server dependencies.
- Cognitive interface ergonomics: Designing visual systems that deliver high information density with zero cognitive clutter.
- Agentic execution runtimes: Sandboxed memory, verification steps, and tool execution boundaries for autonomous agents.
